JUST ONE
Social Justice MERCY
Just One exists to encourage, empower, and equip students and staff to make a difference in the world Just One step at a time. In a world that can often feel overwhelming, we focus on the next faithful step: one action, one conversation, one moment of change.
At the heart of our work is Social Mercy. While justice is essential, we begin by learning to see others through the lens of mercy—recognising dignity, listening deeply, and responding with compassion. Our reflection days and seminars explore real-world issues that young people and staff care about but often don’t know how to approach, creating space for honest dialogue, reflection, and growth.
We focus on helping people recognise their own gifts and talents and understand how these can be used in service of others. Central to our message is the belief that when we receive the love and mercy of God, we are called to share it with those around us—especially those who are struggling or on the margins. This shapes everything we do in schools and communities.
Just One is led by Ezekiel Bartlett, a qualified theologian, former international missionary, and practitioner in the youth justice and prison systems. His experience working in some of the most challenging environments, both in Australia and overseas, shapes a deeply grounded and authentic approach to formation. Ezekiel is a MACS-accredited facilitator whose sessions are known for being relational, engaging, and grounded in real-life experience.
Alongside this, all programs are informed by direct experience in social justice and outreach work. The stories shared are not abstract—they come from real encounters with people facing real challenges.
At Just One, we don’t just speak about justice and mercy—we live it first, and then share it.
